Pork Chops and Apples



This dish became a family favorite after accidentally stumbling upon the recipe. I found a slightly different version in an old cook book and tweaked it to better fit my taste buds. This delicious, savory meal is the perfect Fall dinner!

Pork chops and Apples


4 Servings

Ingredients


1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
4 pork chops (approximately 5-6 ounces each)
1/2 cup wine or apple cider
2 Gala Apples (cored and sliced)
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 400°

Add oil to an oven-safe pan and heat to medium-high

Season pork chops with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper

Place pork in pan and brown both sides

Deglaze pan with wine or apple cider

Turn heat down to medium-low

Place apples on top of the pork

Add brown sugar to the top of the apples

Place butter on top of the brown sugar

Cover pan and place oven

Bake until pork chops are cooked through and tender
