No two children are alike. Doesn't matter if they are siblings or even twins! Children are born with unique personalities. Honestly, it is almost as if they form these personalities at conception because every pregnancy is different! New Orleans Style Red Beans (with Salt Pork)

Red Beans and Rice are a staple in most Southern Louisiana homes, ours included, especially once the weather starts turning cooler. Red Beans are a great hearty, comfort food that will be sure to warm you up! We didn't eat red beans at home growing up and I HATED even the smell of red beans other places. As an adult, I started cooking and was able to tweak my recipe until it was something I enjoyed eating. My kids prefer my red beans over pretty much everyone else's! New Orleans Style Red Beans (with Salt Pork) Ingredients l 1lb dried red beans, rinsed and sorted l 6 ounces salt pork l 1/2lb smoked sausage, sliced l 1 medium onion, chopped l 1 green bell pepper l 5 garlic cloves, chopped l 1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground l 1 teaspoon salt l 1 tablespoon garlic powder l 1 tablespoon onion powder l 1 teaspoon hot sauce l 5 cups chicken stock l 5 cups water (enough to finish covering beans by about 2-3 inches)

Extended Breastfeeding: It's Definitely NOT Weird!

Over and over I have seen posts on Facebook about people either defending or demonizing extended breastfeeding. I've seen people go as far as to say breastfeeding your toddler makes you a pedophile! The American Academy of Family Physicians ( AAFP ) states the following: "As recommended by the World Health Organization, breastfeeding ideally should continue beyond infancy, but this is not the cultural norm in the United States and requires ongoing support and encouragement.
